The Riverside Ramblers, originally called “The Band On The Water”, formed in the 90s to perform at the Pictou Lobster Carnival aboard a moving lobster boat along the waterfront. This group performed for 15 years or so at various functions around Pictou County. The most recent version of the group was renamed in 2023 when it was featured at the Parrsboro Band Days Festival. Personnel has changed over the years, but leader Andrew Alcorn (trumpet) has always managed to coerce some of Nova Scotia’s finest jazz musicians to join him in this group. The Ramblers are enjoying a new found popularity with this latest rendition, performing at festivals, international sporting events, awards ceremonies and concerts. They put a new spin on an old style of Dixieland jazz that is sure please listeners of all ages! This is complimentary show hosted by the town of Pictou. Donations are welcome and can be made while purchasing tickets, or a cash donation can be made at the door, the night of the performance.
